Baby!!!

Sorry Val, I am late posting. The visit went great and we are so excited! There is only one baby!!! Not that I am disappointed but I was ready for anything. Eic was so excited he got to see the ultrasound before I did. I had to wait till she was done measuring till she would turn the monitor around. The heartbeat was at 164... if I remember correctly that puts the baby in girl range. Correct me if I am wrong and place your bets! I am currently posting from a friend's house so I don't have the baby pics on me. Eric took them to work and has scanned them. He has one posted on his blog if you want to check it out! I also found out that my blood type is O- that means when the baby starts to produce its on blood I will have to get a shot that will keep my body from rejecting the baby's. Apparently it is really uncommon to be O- but after my mom thought about it for a minute she thinks her mom was also O-. FYI Eric is O+.

CVS Day!

I was late getting to CVS this week but they still had everything I needed. I got $42.37 in stuff and spent oop $8.22. I also earned about $6 in ecb's.

More changes!

Well I went to the school yesterday to get some volleyball stuff done and I discovered that they changed my classes up. I am dissapointed that I am not going to teach any of the American history's this year but I have a really sweet schedule. God knows what he is doing. I only have to teach 4 classes.... Sign language, History 8,9 and Bible 9. This is a perfect year for me to get a break on my classes. It also will not be as difficult to get a sub for those classes while I am out. We have volleyball camp tomorrow and Sat. The gym doesn't have any a/c so please pray for me to have strength and energy..... I don't have any help this year.

I feel bad that I have not made my CVS run this week yet. I need to go... maybe this afternoon. I got a Shelby County Reporter yesterday and guess what was in it? The CVS sale paper for next week!!!!!! I know they are posted on I heart CVS but sometimes they are so hard to read. Since they get delivered to the school for free I am in for a treat this year!

Two wonderful years!

Yesterday was our 2 year anniversary. Wow, it goes by so fast and so slow at the same time. We like to go to one of our favorite places to eat to celebrate but I was afraid that if we went to one of those places that lil'bit wouldn't like it. Eric was more than understanding so we went to Golden Rule down the street. For some reason I can't eat hamburgers or meat but Chicken and BBQ are fine. We got there just as the bottom was starting to fall out. We had enough time to grab the umbrella and get under the awning and the wind and rain were right on que. After dinner Eric was going to hit the street again but with the monsoon and all he opted against it. Which was good because he needed a day to rest.

I so sad!!!!!

Estell Getty died to day at 84. She played Sophia (the mom) in the hit sitcom The Golden Girls. You also may remember her as Stallone's mom in Stop or My Mother Will Shoot. This is one of my all time favorite shows. I could watch it for days!

Back to school!

I have a ton of work to do to get ready for back to school but have been spending most of my days in bed!!! Well, today I did something different. I decided to take my vitamin when I first woke up this morning, instead of at night when they suggest you take it. This is the first day I have had any energy. I actually feel like doing some things around the house. Lately I have felt like a bum. Eric has been working so hard on his campaign. He leaves from work and goes door to door till about 8:00 every night!!!! The heat really concerns me. I have not been able to do simple things like clean or laundry. Simply because I have no energy and the smells make me gag. So, today I have actually been able to start some laundry, work on ordering volleyball spirit packs, getting class outlines/ expectations completed... well all but one of them anyway.

I did find out that I will be teaching a Bible class this year after all. Last year the curriculum was so bad I threw it out and we read The Oath. While I had several parents/ grandparents who were not thrilled with the decision initially, they were excited to see a book that their 9th grade son actually enjoyed reading. This year I am teaching Old Testament Survey, which I am excited about. I expect I will get more out of it than the students will.... I am also teaching 7th grade U.S. history, 9th grade world history, 11th grade U.S. history (reconstruction to present) and sign language. I am kinda bummed because of my due date this year I will not be able to make the trip to Washington D.C. with the juniors :( I am, however, going on a trip to Nashville with the 7-9th grades. We are going to visit The Hermitage!!!!!!! That is the home of President Andrew Jackson who is my all time favorite American President!!!! As in he is the most interesting. There was no fluff with Jackson he did what he said and meant what he said. Not to mention the scandle of his marriage. As a matter of fact when he was elected president, shortly after his wife died, he accused the "high society" Americans of killing his wife because they were so mean to her. We will als be going to Opry Land and a few more place but I can't remember where. Heck who cares we get to go to the Hermitage!!!!

What do you mean you can't button your pants?

Exactly what I said that I can't button my pants! I have been walking around with my pants unbuttoned for over a week now. Mom decided Friday night that I needed clothes that fit, so we went shopping. We headed up to JCPenny's and found a great sale. I got a pair of black dress pants, 2 pairs of capri's (one light brown the other dark brown) and 3 tops all for $65. All 3 bottoms are expandable, I don't really know how to expand 2 of them yet though, but it is not quite time to either. I guess that is ok as since they will grow with me.....

Good news all around! I was just informed that my sister-in-law, Eric's brother's wife Amanda is also expecting!!! Which is funny. Their due date is March 22, while ours is Feb 22!!!

My lil bro has taken some hard knocks over the past few years and has given my parents fits. I will spare you the details. On July 4th weekend he went to the beach with his fiancee and her mom, they have a condo. Her family is huge there are 7 kids and they are all married with kids, Aaron's fiancee is the baby by several years. Well on their way back his fiancee's mom was driving and had the radio tuned to a christian station. There was a lady on there giving her testimony, his fiancee was asleep so he was left with the only option of listening. While he was listening he decided to rededicate his life to the Lord!!!!! Yay, he has actually been going home at night to sleep at my parent's house and mom has noticed a huge change in his attitude!!! Now we are praying about the fiancee thing. It is not that we don't like her she is really sweet, we just don't think she is the right one for him.....

Ella Kate and while I am not big on double names she will be called Ella Kate. Ella-all beautiful, Kate- one of purtiy/ beloved...

Ok, so we have been thinking of baby names and we have one for a girl. The problem is we don't have one for a boy. Any suggestions? Eric likes Elliott, I don't, and August, I can see this being shortened to "gus." I like Zander (Zane), Sterling, Judson and Bryce, Eric is ok with Bryce but isn't quite sold on it.....

Doctor update

Well the doctor visit yesterday was great. Mostly beacuse my doctor is great, she is a wonderful christian woman. We didn't get taken back on time because my doctor had stepped over to deliver a baby. She wasn't on call but one of her patients was having major complications trying to deliver anda because that is the kind of doctor she is she wanted to go check on her patient. While others may look at that as being rude to you other patients I see it as good to know that my doctor would come check on me if I were having problems too. She really cares about her patients. All she ended up doing was feeling my uterus, giving me some vitamins that help with the nausea and was very excited about the baby. They said my due date should be around Feb. 22, which is what I guessed, with the help of ivillage. After she felt the baby though she said she wasn't positive about the due date, she said I have definate good growth, so apparently I am larger that she thinks I should be to be due on Feb. 22. So in 2 weeks we go back for an ultrasound to measure the baby and we get to hear the heart beat. She didn't want to say it but I could tell she was also running the possibility of more that one lil'bit, Thats what we call it, well it just sounds better than it.

My husband the cannidate!

Well Eric has been hot on the campaign trail, literally, its hot outside. He has been walking the streets getting support for the city council election that will take place in August. He has painted to town blue and white, bright blue, with his campaign signs. I have joined him only once on the campaign trail unfortunately it just doesn't work out for me to hit the streets with him because of my frequent bathroom trips. Besides 3 hrs of work = 1hr of a much needed nap. So, please be praying for favor in eyes of the people he meets. Also don't forget to go vote tomorrow for the Shelby County Comissioner race. Tommy Edwards came by the house Fri. to remind us to go vote (he and Eric are friends) he also brought us 2 bright red t-shirts that say vote Tommy Edwards. I honestly don't remember who he is in the run-off with. I just remember how I thought it was crazy for there to be a run-off because he beat all of the other cannidates by a pretty good margin but only needed a few more votes for the victory without the run-off.

We are also saying good bye to our kitty this week. Either today or tomorrow he will go to another home. Eric is having a hard time with the cat dander and I am no help at all. I can't touch the cat litter so Eric is having to do everything himself....

Yay me!

Well, today was my 1st solo CVS run. I think I did pretty well too. I did 2 seperate transactions cause you can't combine the $4/$20 and the $3/$15 but I did take them for all they were worth. While I was there I ran into the one and only Dawn Hensley, which made the whole trip worth while, we teach at the same school... an I had both of her son's last year. One for history, the other for history and Bible, poor thing I know. Any way I spent $8.22 oop and I still have $5 in ecb's. I got several things that didn't generate ecb's like the shampoo but for both bottles it was only $2 and I can't pass that up nor the comet 2/.99. The toothpaste didn't either but it was b1g1 and I had a $1.50 cupon.... So, while I know its not pennys I will get there one day.........

I know I am a nerd... but I can't help it!

I am so excited I get to go shoppin at CVS tomorrow. They have some great deals this week along with my awesome cupons I have a great transaction planned out. If all goes as planned I should get about $35 in merchandise spend $15 oop and earn $11 in ecb's. Since it is only really my second full shopping trip I don't have alot of ecb's saved up like the veterans do, nor the amount of cupons but we're workin on in. I think I am going to take my mom and show her how the program works, so we may go to the Helena store instead to the fancy new Calera store. I will let you know how I do tomorrow, since it will be my first trip all by myself!

Big news, for blogger friends only!

Well, yesterday morning I woke up at about 3am and couldn't go back to sleep. I was starving!!! I tried to go back to sleep but I just tossed and turned, so I had to get up. Pizza from the fridge had to do for the stomach that refused to be silenced. I know this may sound completely bizzare and random but let me explain. The week before we left for our cruise I was feeling awful. I was dizzy, disoriented and got car sick for the first time... not to mention that I was going potty all the time. So I decided to take the test, it came back positive in less than a minute. So I suprised Eric with the news on the cruise! (FYI cruise with rough water and morning sickness, not cool) So, as of today, according to ivillage I am 54 days along 8 wks and 5 days. We have been keeping the news under the radar till after I go to the doc on Tues. So I will not post anything on my myspace or facebook till then, but I thought I would give you guys the heads up.

I love to look up the meanings of names. While I know this may sound weird but the Bible talks about speaking the word and good things over your children. I believe that also includes what you name your children. For example, the name Mallory means "without good fortune." While it is not a "bad" name it is just not something I would name my child. The today show did a segament with bad baby names, not the meanings but the actual names themselves. Yes there are actually people named this.

Happy 4th!

I love the 4th of July. Family parties, bbq, chips, dip and pie. It is also my grandmother's birthday. Last year we had a big party for her. This year we are going to my sister-in-law's camper on Logan Martin and plan to ride their 2 seadoos and there may be some skiing behind the boat. All of Eric's siblings will be there, well his blood siblings, I don't think his 2 step-brothers or his step-sister and their families will be there. Eric's older brother Chris will be there... he may bring a friend (not married), while Kaci and Brandon as well as Michael, Amanda and their daughter Lily Beth will be there. This is exciting because we, for the most part, only see Chris at Christmas. Michael and Kaci are in a "race" to have kids and have announced to the families that they are "trying." Eric and I are however not in the race.... nor will I announce when we start trying... but it will be interesting to see who comes out on top... oops, that was kinda punny.

Some of you may have seen on the news a story about a family of quads, the Drakes. I am so excited for them! Eric and I go to church with Tabitha and her husband, I can't remember his name he mostly has to work on Sundays so I don't see him much. They have a 4 year old daughter Mercy. They used fertility both times and I can only guess at the painful desire she had to be a mom. Well, God delivered! When we first discvered Tabitha was expecting there were 5 seperate heart beats. The doctor she was seeing suggested a "treatment" that would put salt water in her womb and the "strongest" of the babies would be the only ones left. The doctor felt as though the 5 babies would be a major risk to mom's health as well as they would all be weak when they were born. Needless to say they immediately found a new doctor. On their next visit ther were only 4 heart beats but according to the doctor that is normal. Tabitha carried all 4 babies a record 35 weeks!!!!! Most of the time it is only 28. The doctor scheduled the c-section for Tues night at 6pm, July 1st. All 4 babies are healthy and are doing great! The 3 boys, weighed 5lbs each, while the girl weighed 6lbs. What a miracle! Oh, and that is 21 lbs. of baby she was carrying around!!!!!
