Adjusting....

to a whole new life as a mom..... wow, I can't believe that! Deep thought, you have to "practice" driving for a whole year before they let you hit the open road, and take 2 tests, but they will hand you a baby in 48 hours and send you on your way..... Corban's eating schedule at night is great! He eats every 3 hours, I feed him then daddy gets up, changes his diaper, and rocks him back to sleep. Even though Eric has been back at work since Wed. he still gets up every time with me. Corban seams to have a relaxed temperment.... except for when it comes to his food, but hey who isn't fussy when it is past time to eat. I love the fact that when he is crying because its time to eat I can go pick him up and start talking to him and he quiets down.... cuz he knows whats commin'......

Sleep!!!!!

So last night I actually was able to sleep through the night. YIPPIE!!!! Seeing as how yesterday I was up at 3 and the day before up at 1.... What is up with that? This morning I am hurting a good bit. I don't know that it as much contractions as it is pressure. It is hard to tell because my contractions are not bad just uncomfortable. My doc seams to think I could deliver without the pain meds. I told her that when the time comes to clear the way for the drug man!!!! Oh, well I am off to work..... unless Corban comes soon..... but he could stil arrive today sometime. Most everyone is placing bets on tomorrow. Oh well, in other news, tomorrow is my last day at work. Since I go back to the doc on Monday and they may keep me, but it will not be till afternoon. I also want that one day to get some stuff DONE. Because Tues .he will be here fo sho and our little world will be completely different........

I will spare you the details but things are getting closer. My contractions are gradually getting stronger but still not consistent. In the mean time, Corban is quite the entertainment with my shape shifting belly......

Doc update!

So, I just got home from the doc.... GOOD NEWS!!!! I am actually dialated.... to a 1 & 1/2 YAY!!!! Actual progress!!! I go back Monday for a "final check," if he is not here by then, or if they don't have a reason to keep me, they will induce me Tues at 5 am!!!! YIPPIE I AM SSSSSOOOOOOOO excited! Oh, and needless to say so is his daddy....

My venting!!!!!!!!!

Ok, why do women who have almost died (sarcasam) in childbirth feel the reason to track me down and tell me how much pain and torture they endured during labor? Seriously? You somehow managed to make it. Did you want to listen to someone elses horror stories of labor before you had your first kid? Besides what kind of friend tells you those kinds of stories before you have a kid. I had someone track me down because they wanted to tell me how awful their labor was. I just looked at them and said sorry, but I don't want to hear your story. They, in so many words, said I was being rude. Well, you guys know me.... I in so many words said no, you are being rude for tracking me down to tell me your story. I know we don't live in a perfect world and that complications happen and so do bad experiences..... but seriously... I DON'T CARE!!!!!! KEEP YOUR SOB STORIES TO YOURSELF!!!!! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT!!!!



On another note, if you have not seen Fireproof you need to, it was great!

Valentine Recap

Eric and I don't go all out on Valentines. Don't get me wrong, we always do something special just not massive. This year I put together some of his favorite sweets in a valentine bucket with a card... they are packed and ready to go to the hospital! I also got a card and what has been my latest sweet crave... butterfingers!!!! About 10:30 or so we headed to the mall to get some walking in..... needless to say it didn't work so great. Oh, I had contractions and had to stop alot but nothing worth writing home about. While we were there we ran into Michael, Jennifer and Sarah... who Eric just wanted to keep. While talking to them Eric's sister and her husband came walking by.... so we got to have lunch with them. Which was a treat because they live in Oxford and we don't get to see them too often. After the mall it was off to church for our valentines dinner. It was great! It was $20 per couple, which included dinner, lasagna or chicken parmeasan with salad, bread and dessert. All of the ladies got a single rose and after we ate we watched the movie Fireproof. It was so much fun! I don't have pics because the camera is in the suitcase..... But they did take pics there and if we buy some I will get them posted!

I go back to the doc today..... I guess we will see....

For like 5 minutes ,I want to sit down and not feel like I HAVE to be doing something! I am still writing thank you cards, I have most of a packed bag. I still have 3 more tests and 4 more answer keys to make and grades that need to be entered into the computer. After I finish all of that, today hopefully, then Corban can make his appearance. I am so ready for him to make his appearance! We have officially reached the point to where if Eric and I call anyone we are asked if it is "the call." I was really hoping he would come early but no luck yet and no good contractions yet either.... I mean hard ones, I have a ton of the little ones, and have only had 1 that really stopped me in my tracks.

I would like to go shopping sometime today. I really need an item or two that I really don't want to go in search of after Corban gets here.... if you know what I mean.....

If you have not had a chance, stop by Eric's blog and look at the pics of the way cute bow and rocking hose that a florist friend of ours gave to us Tuesday. I absolutely love the horse. It is one of those things that I would love to have for him but wouldn't buy....... I love it! We also bought a rocker/glider/recliner Tues. I have a rocking chair that has been passed down to me through family but it really isn't comfortable. This chair is perfect! It glides with little effort and I can sleep in it....

While Eric will be off the days I am in the hospital we are trying for him to be able to go back to work asap so he doesn't have to use all of his vacation time. I know some people think it is crazy but let me explain. He works literally 3-4 minutes down the street from the house, if I really need him I can call and depending on when I deliver my mom may be here with me during the day..... no point in having both of them here.....

Please keep Eric's mom in your prayers today she has an interview......

Sorry, I know this is long but it has been so busy and I have not had time to post....

I have a dream, that one day.....

I will finally have contractions that dialate!!!!!!!! Oh, I am having contractions, but they are not dialating me. UGH!!!!! Things are crazy here. We went on our shopping spreee, which left me feeling WIPED OUT! More to come later....

I have TONS more pics but not enough time to post them. I have a friend emailing me the pics from my shower at school.

All of my showers have been awesome! Friends and family have been more than generous. We have our pack 'n' play, car seat with 2 bases, high chair (that fits newborn, it reclines back, to even be used as a booster at the table), plenty of clothes, blankets, diapers and wipes, baby's bible, picture frames, scrapbooks, tub, towels, wash cloths, and even a digital bank for change. Several people have given cash and gift cards which is GREAT! I think we are going today to get...... bottles, burp cloths, stroller, swing, seat protector for the other car seat base, crib sheets, pacifier clips, head support for the car seat, boppy pillow, changing pad cover. I also want a bumbo seat and the tray... but that may wait till a later date...... Oh, I can't wait till he gets here!!!!!

Eric's work is doing a shower for us tomorrow right after work and I am so excited! It means we are that much closer to Corban being here. It is starting to feel like I am going to be preggo forever. I have lesson plans done for one class through the date that Miss Porter will take over I just have 2 more subjects to go........ It is hard to plan for 3 weeks out...... I will have to post some pics after tomorow of my honkin self. While I know I am not big compared to some I have put on an additional 40lbs........... that is big to me! My body is working over time to keep up... and I am exhausted, even if I do get to sleep at night......

The doc visit.....

Went as expected... they did do an exam to see where he was. They quickly found he is head down and ready to come out. It was kinda weird because she started the exam and said, oh, I feel his head. I think it is crazy how they just know it is his head they are poking at! She also said my cervix was not helping me any... which means, I guess, that I am not dialated or anything. So I asked that must mean it will be a good bit longer before he gets here. She said it may but that she had seen people who were the same as me go home have contractions and deliver the next day. She said I needed to have everything ready to go. She also told me that my strep test came back negative! So praise the Lord! One less thing to worry about, not that I was worried they would just do what they had to do......

Question: What do I really need to take to the hospital? They told me I would need all kinds of stuff. What did you think was something that you had to have to survive?

Off to the doc I go......

Well, this is my last 2 week visit. I am at 37 weeks and one day, which is FULL TERM!!!! Let me just say I am ready to have this baby! I really would like him to wait till this weekend though. I have an almost packed bag for the hospital... well at least Corban would be covered. I still have to add my stuff to the mix and get Eric a change of clothes. I have not put the car seat in the car yet because I am waiting to get the car seat covers that you put the seat down on... someone got them for us I just don't have them yet.....

Yesterday I was in pain, I thought it was just some pressure but after a conversation with Jamie we think it was contractions.... since I have never had them I didn't really know the difference. But let me just say that bad boy stopped me in my tracks.... It was not too bad but I couldn't walk the rest of the way to the car for a minute. I then realized that I had already had a few while I was at church too. They went away yesterday late afternoon and I have only had some tightening since... I am not expecting anything profound from the doctor today but we are that much closer...
