Did you know?

that on a cruise you end up tipping almost everyone.
that Eric and I are now trained in the art of animal towel making.
that we now refer to going to a casino as "making a donation."
that Mexican spear fishers wear speedos.
that when a jeweler who has a white gold ring priced at $2,500 and come down to $250 for you as a "deal" that it is not real people!!!!!!!!
that the drinking age in Mexico is 18.... but it is really don't ask don't tell.
that 10 pesos = 1 dollar.
that most places in Mexico don't take pesos they only want dollars.
that I can still break out the spanish when needed.... after 4 years of study I better!!!
that they are bathroom attendants in every bathroom in Mexico and they all want a tip for keeping it clean for you.
that when it rains in Cozumel it floods and that is why you have to take a step up to get into all of the stores.
that only the front side of Cozumel has power and credit card machines, on the back side there is no power or everything is run by generators.
that there is only 1 gas station on Cozumel... talk about a monopoly.
that apparently spear fishing for baraccudas in Mexico is "fun."
that you can pull you motor boat up to any public beach, next to people who are swimming and just park it there.
that the pool water on a cruise ship is salt water, they pull it fresh from the ocean every morning and filter out the fish and stuff.
that the speed limit in Mexico is optional.
that Ford still makes the fiesta model often used as a taxi in Mexico.
that stop signs are also optional in Mexico.
that you never have to pay full price in Mexico for anything you can always talk them down on the price... except for eating places.
that the entire cruise ship is run off of generators.

We're Back!

And we had a blast!!! I was pleasently suprised at what all you get on a cruise for the money. I have many stories to tell and not enough time to tell them. This week I have a volleyball clinic I am doing for Cahawba Christian School... I know it is spelled weird, but that is how they spell it! We can really use the extra cash. Not only did we have fun on the ship but we also had fun in Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen. We also learned that stop signs (ALTO) as well as the speed limit are both optional in Mexico as well as a few other interesting facts. I will post a few pics here and will get some more up later but if you just can't wait you can check out the pics on my myspace.

It is early in the monring and I can't sleep!!!! Thank you Jazzy!!! For some reason at 3am every morning he feels the need to jump on the bed and sit on top of me purring loudly....... I am one of those people that when I am up I am up. There is no going back to sleep unless I am way beyond tired. After some probing Eric told me that Sandra, the former cat owner used to get up at 3 every day... well that explains it! Eric is still asleep but will be up shortly because his alarm is set for 5:30 so we can hit the road by 7.... and maybe avoid some traffic. It should take us about 4 hours to get there but we plan on making an awful waffle pit stop along the way for some good eats! I am equipped with my motion sickness pills, 70spf sun block, a couple of books and I may have a suprise or two up my sleeve... but that is for honey only.......July 22 will be our 2 year anniversary, it has gone by so fast so this is our vacation and anniversary trip yippie!!!!

I almost forgot! I love to read and to "relax" next week by the pool with my 70 spf sunscreen I need a good book or 2 any suggestions?

A Toothbrush, Hair Dye and Pants

That is what I woke up with on my mind this morning. My roots are showing so I am long overdue for a little root touch up. I decided this time instead of just re-dying my whole head I would try the root touch up with a toothbrush. It gets closer to the root than the "colorist gloves" can... and to be honest I just hate those stupid gloves. You can never tell how much dye you have on your head. So we will see how this turns out in about 35 min..... When i get done with the hair I have to make the drive to Clanton to pick up Eric's pants from my grandmother, all of Eric's pants with the exception of his jeans have to be hemmed. Since grandmother will do it for free and it makes her feel a little more needed since my granddaddy passed away a little over a year ago, we try to keep her somewhat occupied.

There is so much to de before our cruise. Believe it or not I am packed for the most part. I just have to throw in stuff like make-up and the curling iron. I want to get a pedicure but if I do then that is less money I get to spend on the trip so I think I will just do it myself. The camera is definately packed with the battery charger and plenty of memory. I am so excited and will be taking a million pictures.

Tomorrw is our ladies outing with church. We are going to Ikea in Atlanta. Our entire kitchen is from Ikea and I have been there once, when I had a volleyball tournament in Atlanta with time to kill, but I didn't get to make it all the way through because we ran out of time. This time we have all day!!!!!!

Jacob turns 3!

After a late night/ morning with Jason and Joyce we woke up early to drive to Munford to Eric's parents. Jacob's bolwling birthday party was at 12:00. Good news my in-laws have put a bid on a house and will be moving the 1st of next month it looks like. The house they live in now is owned by the company they work for at the front gate of the property so they get no privacy. They will have to have the pool professionally removed but I think they are going to move the hot tub on their own. We are so happy they will get a place of their own where people don't just come look in their windows and have to listen to 18 wheelers come in and out.

I helped my neice Lily Beth with her bowling. She wanted to use the pink ball. Notice the flip flops, they didn't have shoes small enough to fit her and I didn't want her to get blisters rubbed on her feet. So, I carried the ball till she wouldn't let me any more and then I walked with her with my hand under it to keep her from smashing her toes. Her mom and dad , Eric's brother Michael and his wife Amanda were at the lake celebrating their 1st anniversary.
This is my other neice Megan, she is Jacob's little sister she is 10 months old... I think, isn't she a cutie! Her mom has another bun in the oven too....

Around 2 we left Talladega and headed home. We got a little R&R before we headed out with Steven and Vanessa to Cityfest in Alabaster. We had so much fun! One of my favorite bands from my college years was there to perform Sister Hazel and we also saw Tracy Lawrence. We decided not to wait for the fireworks because we knew getting out of there would be crazy. I saw alot of people I knew and hadn't seen in a while. Vanessa and I managed to eat a pizza a bloomin onion and a funnel cake.. good times!

Cat update!

Jazzy has made himself right at home. This is one of his new fav spots to hang out during the day. We have discovered he doesn't like storms, he hides under our bed. As he is getting more used to the house he is willing to let strangers pet him more often. He is a picky eater and only like chicken flavored cat food.... the expensive kind..... How does he get up to his "spot" you ask. Well he jumps from the floor to the counter to the window to the top of the cabinet..... and that is how he gets down too.

So, the past couple weeks have been eventful. Regular volleyball season "work outs" have started at school, granted it is only one night a week for 2 hours. The time out of school has been nice but so far we really have not done too much.... I have been thinking about getting a job.

This past week Eric's cousin Joyce and her husband Jason and their daughter Zemi came to the 'ham for a financial conference and we were so happy to see them! We had dinner Fri. night at the Summit. I will point out at this time that Jason handles all of my financial investments and while the stock market isn't doing so great I am still making money on my investments. Yep, he is that good of an advisor. I do wish we lived closer together they are so much fun! They also have 2 boys Ben and Aaron but their grandma kept them in Tallahassee.
