What are you going to do with that thing?!?!?!?

So, Corban turned 2 months old yesterday and I can't believe it! We had to go to the doc for that "fun" appointment. He took one vaccine by mouth and they then gave him 4 shots, yes 4. The lady who did them was really good though. She stuck him with the first one and before he could finish his deep breath for his first big scream, she was done. There are some advantages to nursing, he screamed and I did the one thing that I knew would stop it...... put him on it. It works instantly by the way. All that being said, poor guy has been running a fever all day, but has not been too bad fussy. We learned that he weighs 11.13lbs which puts him in the 75 percentile. He is 24 1/2in long which puts in in the 95 percentile.... which explains why he has been in 3 month clothes for the past few weeks.

Today in the daycare they used the avent bottle, they were suggested to me by a mom who had the same problem and she was willing to lend one to use. He didn't spit up today at all with the avent bottle. Oh and the easter bunny brought Corban a whale tummy time mat...

In the news....

Well I went back to work yesterday and I have lots to do. Corban is adjusting to daycare... which means more spit-up? Could he be having to adjust more to the bottle??? He also has thrush, fun medicine! Apparently he has allergies too, he has been so congested. We had to go to Gainesville, Eric's grandmother was put in the ICU last week. Talk about a looooooonnnngggggg drive with a 6 week old. Pics of Corban meeting cousins and great- grandparents to come

Poor Baby!

So, Corban threw up fpr the first time yesterday. I think it was some egg drop soup I ate that made him sick. I didn't eat but a few bites because it tasted weird to me. So I had to call the doc and ask what to do so he didn't get dehydrated. They told me to replace his next feeding with pedialyte. So I gave him 3 oz. just like they said. Well, 10 minutes later he was screaming so I ended up feeding him too. The little guy can eat! He is doing better so I am guessing that is what upset his stomach. When he wakes up in a few minutes I am going to feed hiim and then get ready to go to the kids and mommy market. I don't really plan on getting much... just looking to see if there are any really good deals.

I took Corban to school Monday. Some of my students got to see him and were so excited that he is here. I was suprised at some of my students who gave me big hugs and wanted me to come back, now. You know there are those that you know will give you hugs and then there were several who were just out of the blue, which makes it all worth while. They made my day! Corban met his teacher, and spit up on her. I have his daycare box of stuff ready to go.

We get Corban's pics back on Mon. This weekend Eric is the Easter Bunny at the Calera Chamber house fundraiser. It is $10 for 2 5x7's and 8 wal. he will be there Sat. from 10-2 and another guy is doing it Sun. 2-4, we are going to Eric's parents to do the Easter thing. Since his mom got a job as a 911 operator her schedule has all kinds of hours. Eric is helping with the race for the cure again, this year it is May 8th, he will be the emcee again.

dedicated Sunday yeah! Pics to come. This week will be crazy as I am trying to get ready to go back to work.... gotta run to the school today.... I am excited about going back too, I miss my kids and the normalcy of life....

Since my post yesterday...

The justice department came back with a no answer. I don't know what the city is going to do now... but it is getting old. We are really disappointed. What chaps my butt is that if the new districts did a way with a white minority in a city we would have never gone through this.... because thats not illegal. I mean seriously, people want equality but they fuss about this? Real equality is dividing the districts up by true population numbers not by color. Can a white person not represent a black person? A hispanic? Oh, thats right, the entire Civil Rights Movement's only supporters and leaders were black Americans.Take it from a history teacher that couldn't be further from the truth. Just because you representative is not you color doesn't mean they can't represent you. Has anyone looked at the President lately? While I didn't vote for him or agree with him on, well, um, anything, he is still the President and I respect that. What is the difference between these two elections? The people voted, the majority wins. What's the problem? It sounds to me like the Department of Justice needs to change its name to the Department of Politically Correct Segregation. And thats what I think about that.

On another note we are down a car..... an 18 wheeler had a blow-out right in front of Eric yesterday. Thank God he is ok. Pics and details to come... Corban calls.

The happenings.....

So it has been forever since I blogged so .... here goes....

- The justice department is supposed to be handing down their decision about city council today.
- Eric will leave this afternoon to go help his dad repair the subfloor in their dining room.... because they had ANOTHER leak... the second sub-floor replaced in a month, same room.
-Corban is 4 weeks and 5 days old... or 1 month and 5 days!!!! It feels like it has gone by so slow but so fast at the same time.
-This week at school is my spring break, I am off next week then it is back to the grind.
- Corban is getting dedicated Sunday.
-None of my shirts fit other than my maternity and bigger t-shirts, I expected to grow but not 3 sizes!!!!!!!!
-We are having our first family pictures and Corban's pictures taken on Friday.

-is growing every day.
-is starting to look a little like me, mouth, fingers toes- still has blue eyes.
-smiles very big in his sleep- Eric says he is dreaming about boobies.
-smiles with gas and poop.
-sleeps well at night, not through the night, but I feed him change his diaper and put him back down to sleep and he doesn't really fuss.
-eats every 2 hours or so still, except for last night he gave me 3 consecutive hours of sleep... twice- I am praying it becomes a habit....
-loves spending time with daddy and being sung to by daddy, mama sings too but isn't so good at it.
-has decided this past week that he does not like to sit in a dirty diaper
-has scratched his face twice now allowing mommy to hear the "i am hurt cry"
-is an absolute joy, when he is awake he is perfectly content to sit there and look around... most of the time
-doesn't care for formula, but will eat it, when you put the bottle in his mouth his face looks like you gave him lemon
